Getting Started with Quick Actions
Quick Actions is a page in BlueOcean that gives you a shortcut to the most impactful things you can do — in a single click. Whether you're new to the platform or just need a fast starting point, Quick Actions gets you into the work faster.
How to open Quick Actions
Look for the ⚡ lightning bolt icon in the left-hand navigation bar. Click it to open the Quick Actions page. You'll see a grid of cards — each one representing a specific task or analysis you can jump into immediately.
How cards work
There are two types of cards:
- Spark prompt cards — Clicking these opens a new Spark chat with a pre-written prompt ready to go. You can review the prompt, customize it if needed, and hit send. Spark will use your brand's data to generate the response.
- Platform link cards — Clicking these takes you directly to a specific section of the BlueOcean platform, sometimes with filters already applied so you see the most relevant data immediately.
Tips for getting the most out of Quick Actions
- Spark prompt cards auto-send. Clicking the card will automatically send most Spark prompts. For some prompts, you may be asked to take an action such as uploading files.
- Use "Ask Spark" as your catch-all. If none of the cards match exactly what you need, Ask Spark is always there for open-ended questions.
- Save your best prompts. After running a Spark analysis, if the prompt worked well, head to Create Your Own Analysis to save it to the Prompt Library so you can reuse it.
- Monthly Business Review + Weekly News Roundup = always-on intelligence. Running these on a regular cadence keeps you current without having to manually pull data together.
Frequently asked questions
Can I change the cards that appear on Quick Actions?
Not at this time. The cards are curated by the BlueOcean team and updated periodically. If you have a suggestion for a card you'd like to see, share it with your account team.
Are the Spark prompts editable?
Yes. When you click a Spark prompt card, the prompt is placed in the Spark input field — you can edit it before sending. You're never locked into the default wording.
Can I use Quick Actions for any brand in my account?
Quick Actions uses the brand context active in your Spark session. Make sure you have the right brand selected when you kick off a prompt.
